desktop. Dual-core processors contain two processing cores, residing on one chip, that perform calculations on two streams of data, thereby increasing efficiency and speed while running multiple programs and the new generation of multi-threaded software. For the end-user this means a significant increase in response and performance when running multiple applications simultaneously. The AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core processo...

Advantages: Good value for money Disadvantages: A bit outdated
...Even tough this product is a bit outdated now I still think it is worth considering this processor. If you not interested in dual core processors this is a great processor because it is based on the anthlon 64 series, which is much bettter than the intel pentiums . I am still using this processor on my vista based system and it is still coping with the latest programs such as Office 2007 and games such as battlefield 2.
This processor has the ability to work on 64bit operating systems such as Windows xp 64 bit version and all the new vista version in 64 but. The 64 bit processing ability will allow you to perform tasks alot quicker. This is an excellent cpu but i might be usefull to consider the AMD64 4000 processor because it has an extra 200 Mhz....

Advantages: Good price/performance ratio and featuring a 1Mb cache Disadvantages: Not a great increase in performance over lower priced models etc. 3500+
...I brought this processor as part of an upgrade bundle (RAM Mobo and CPU) about 2 years ago to go with my then new Geforce 6800GT. This review will be based on how this product performs NOW, two years on.
This CPU has served me well, and paired with my 6800GT is still able to play nearly all new games on high graphics settings. The new advances in chip technology (e.g. Intels new quad core) have driven down the prices of these Mid range CPU's, meaning that you can build yourself a Very capable PC without having to take out a bank loan. Obviously this is not on par with the recent 'flagship' processors, and if you want to build a PC for the purpose of setting amazing benchmarks and running 5 programmes at once, and you have the money then you should of course opt for a newer CPU. But if you're looking to build a decent multi purpose...

Advantages: Great overclocking potential Disadvantages: Not world-leading performance
...I bought this CPU a year ago, and it was a 3700 KAB1E stepping, one of the gems of this CPU is its massive overclocking potential, with the KABxE series being the pinnacles, as such i have maintained an overclock to 3.07 GHz, making this faster than the £500 FX57 CPU, all for free!
This CPU is 2.2GHz with a 200 MHz FSB like all Athlon64's and has a multiplier of 11x, however you can lower this but not raise it.
This CPU isn't too quick anymore, but for a budget single core its nice and cheap, and can still put up a fight when overclocked, and is a great upgrade if you have a socket 939 motherboard as you can upgrade your CPU without needing a new Mobo/Ram....

Advantages: very good for games Disadvantages: not very good for muti tasking
...amd have always been the bests for games but never 2 good for muti tasking but if your like me and you can have 2processors you should have one amd and Intel so your pc will be good for gaming and muti tasking so if you really want a fast pc you should used amd and intel together so that you can do all the things you want or you could just get two of this amdprocessor so that your pc will be 4.8 ghz with windows xp 64 bit it will work so much better and it is very good for the money and it takes no time to put in your pc i hope this has helped...

Advantages: Highest performing single core processor without spending £700 on a FX Disadvantages: Its not too good at multi tasking
...The AMD64 4000+ is the quickest and highest performing processor without spending around £500 to £800 on the FX line of AMDprocessors. This is an excellent chip if you want a performance boost that you can see as soon as you install it however with the new generation of dual core chips I would highly recommend one of them as they are more future proof than this processor. This processor gives your computer a nice boost to its performance, I used to run an Intel machine however changed to AMD and the AMD is definately better for gaming. In conclusion this processor is an excellent piece of engineering however with the developments in technology I would encourage people to go for the dual core technology....

Advantages: excellant speed for gaming Disadvantages: not compatible to all mother boards
...AMDAthlon64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHzprocessor is very fast and reliable when compared to other processors which is more costly.
AMDAthlon64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHzprocessor is very reliable when we use graphic softwares like photoshop or when we play 3D games which are very resource gulping.
AMDAthlon64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHzprocessor will not lag or make you wait when we use large sized digital photos when downloading form digital cameras.I put this into the first computer i built.
It can run vertually anything with ease. I am using windows vista x64 ultimate with it, and i have 4GB ram. recommended to anyone. AMDAthlon64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHzprocessor heat systrm is excellent which will not produce heat easly.
The computer with AMDAthlon64 X2 6000+ / 3 GHzprocessor is my first computer and I am sing this computer for all my needs like...
