i am using this cpu to run a linux home server. it supports virtualization, so if you want to run other OS (windows, linux, MacX ) on top of linux you can.. and you have plenty of cpu to use for your office stuff.
very good value-for-money in my view. but make sure you buy ddr2 memory of the same frequency as this cpu.
works very quiet and cool; i like listening to music and it very sharp.
i do not do games, thus would not know how it performs but it works great on my databases and java programmes...
since i use linux i have no need to keep a cpu for running anti-virus scan, and this is just a great choice for a great desktop.
