Bought one of these to go with a system upgrade to play the latest games. I was very impressed with the benchmarks and the overall performance of the processor. If you are looking for a new processor, do not hesitate to buy one of these.
That being said, it is no good putting one of these chips with a budget graphics card, small amount of memory and on a budget motherboard.
It is true to say that AMD have been loosing ground to Intel for some time now (Athlon XP was the last great series), but the price vs. performance of this chip is superb and would cause even the most loyal Intel user to consider switching.
On balance this is not quite the strike back one might of hoped for, but is certainly a step in the right direction. If this chip is used with appropriate components you will end up with a PC able to run anything you want ...
