Manufacturer's product description
The AMD Athlon MP processor, featuring QuantiSpeed architecture and Smart MP technology, is the latest member of the AMD Athlon family of processors that offers exceptional multiprocessing capability. The AMD Athlon MP processor offers fully featured logic implementation to support smarter multiprocessing, based on AMD's Smart MP technology. With QuantiSpeed architecture, the AMD Athlon MP processor delivers extra performance by increasing the amount of work done per clock cycle and, at the same time, improving the processor's operating frequency. This combination delivers compelling application performance. The AMD Athlon MP processor is the world's first seventh-generation x86 processor for high-performance multiprocessing servers and workstations. It provides the fundamental building blocks to power 1- and 2-way server and workstation platforms, especially for users in the commercial and enterprise arenas. This processor is designed to optimize the execution of multi-threaded and mission-critical applications, and to meet the reliability and computation-intensive requirements of cutting-edge software applications. It allows servers and workstations to run the most demanding Windows-compatible business and multimedia applications available today, with ample performance headroom for tomorrow's advances in software and operating systems.

Advantages: Just so much cheaper than Intel Pentiums Disadvantages: Slighty confusing chip names.
...that it is infact a 1.80 Ghz ( 1800 mhz ) processor.
Now for the tech info:
The AMDAthlon XP 2200+ processor has a performance-enhancing cache memory feature of 64K instruction and 64K data cache for a total of 128K L1 cache. 256K of integrated, on-chip L2 cache for a total of 384K full-speed, on-chip cache. It's Socket A infrastructure designs are based on high-performance platforms and are supported by a full line of optimized infrastructure solutions (chipsets, motherboards, BIOS). Available in Pin Grid Array (PGA) for mounting in a socketed infrastructure Electrical interface compatible with 266MHz AMDAthlon XP system buses, based on Alpha EV6 bus protocol Die size: approximately 37.5 million transistors on 80mm2. Manufactured using AMD's state-of-the-art 0.13-micron copper process technology.

...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlonprocessors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems.
Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good...

Computers now are more demanding and need more speed/power to keep up with performance games and software. Dual core work as two CPU cores which increases performance, it is the equivalent of getting two processors in one. In a dual core processor each... more
Go on admit it. You know you want a faster processor, but every time you check the prices you gasp in horror at what the current prices stand at. This CPU is no different, it is expensive to many consumers' minds and many cannot find a good enough reason more
