Advantages: very good for games Disadvantages: not very good for muti tasking
...amd have always been the bests for games but never 2 good for muti tasking but if your like me and you can have 2processors you should have one amd and Intel so your pc will be good for gaming and muti tasking so if you really want a fast pc you should used amd and intel together so that you can do all the things you want or you could just get two of this amdprocessor so that your pc will be 4.8 ghz with windows xp 64 bit it will work so much better and it is very good for the money and it takes no time to put in your pc i hope this has helped...

...Having had an AMD chip in my last machine (Athlon 1.1Ghz) I have been impressed over the past 3 years as to the stability and consistency of the processor.
I have never really had any major problems with the processor - apart from the processor fan failing - and, therefore, decided to stick with AMD for an upgrade.
I had a good look around, and decide on the 2600+ chipset with the 333 FSB. This will (with the correct motherboard) allow the use of DDR400 RAM which leads to performance gains.
The chip itself only set me back £75 (PC World Component Centre), and along with a new motherboard, memory (512Mb) and a new 450 power supply, the entire upgrade cost me around £350.
Now, considering that a new machine would have cost me in the region of £1500 upwards, this worked out as a very good solution.
Since purchasing the new equipment...

Advantages: price, fast, stability, top performance, a lot better than intel, overclocking, good support Disadvantages: Heat is main problem.
...I compare a price and performance and Intel processor have been allways more expensive than AMD. All test at same Ghz showing that AMD is much faster. My first computer was AMD Duron 700 / Chaintech 7AJA. I had to choose between PIII and Duron 700 and i looked price and performance and i choosed AMD because i didn`t had so much money. After I bought new computer with AMDathlonprocessor I felt that computer is fast. XP boottime, games and test showed it also. I also have overclocked this processor as well. I looked toms hardware athlon overcloking tutorial and it works fin (+25% speed - stable). Main thing is that processor is good but like all other AMDprocessor has a problem of heating. If you have a cooler then it is all fine!
