AMD Opteron processor gives companies a whole new way of doing business. The processor is based on AMD64 technology - an innovative technology that allows IT professionals to run 32- and 64-bit applications simultaneously. This means that organizations can grow into 64-bit computing without sacrificing their existing IT investments. With its Direct Connect Architecture, the AMD Opteron processor helps eliminate the real challenges and bottlenecks of system architectures because everything is directly connected to the CPU. Direct Connect Architecture delivers the best 2P and 4P architecture for x86 computing, resulting in the best performance-per-watt in the market. It's the ideal performance boost for the working environments of today and tomorrow. Dual-core AMD Opteron processor extends AMD's Direct Connect Architecture by connecting two CPUs on one die, improving overall system performance and efficiency.

Advantages: BETTER THAN RIVAL PROCESSER Disadvantages: NONE
...hello there i would like to take a moment to to reveiw this product.i am currently using this amd 64 processer.I installed and fitted my self. first of all i would say the overall quality of the processer is good. And is solidly built. The processer connected too the mother board inside my computer nice and easy.Installation was stait forward and easy aswell. The performance of the amd is outstanding. I often run many programs at the same time, very demanding ones at that such as cubase music editing programs so i need extremly low latency settings all the time. The amd does exactly that.

Advantages: Cheap, sufficient performance, low power consuption Disadvantages: Core processors are faster and overclock better
...As an Amd fan I often check the performance of the new Amd products. Based on a new 65 nm architecture I really expected that this processor is better than than the X2 3800 processor but I had mixed opinions and I'm a little disappointed.
The good things:
Dualcore decent performance at low price
Small power consumption , approximate 60 w at full load and only 8w when Cool‘n’Quiet is enabled. Pretty good.
Good stability, The processor is stable and cold tanks to 65 nm fabrication technology
Integrated memory controller.
Good price
The nod so good things:
The new l2 cache memory is slower than the old 90 nm fabrication technology
Doesn't overclock as good as core 2 processors
Smaller performance than x2 3800 in some applications and also smaller performance than the Intel e4000 in many applications...

...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlon processors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems.
Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good...
