...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlon processors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems. Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good... Read review

Advantages: Fast, cheap, easy to upgrade
Disadvantages: Not Intel - Is that really a problem

...their products at work, and haven't looked back. --- Why "1800+" and what happened to MHz and GHz numbers? --- Intel have been numbering their processors and measuring their power in terms of Megaherts and Gigaherts (MHz and GHz). Until recently, so did the other chip makers. More recently, AMD realised that a processor from Intel labelled "1.8GHz" was only as powerful as an AMD chip labelled "1.6GHz" - An unfair comarison. AMD quite sensibly under the circumstances decided to start labelling their chips differently. An 1800+ is claimed to be equivalent to or better that an 1800MHz (1.8GHz Pentium IV processor) - So far their claims have proven broadly accurate. --- Overall --- Yippee! Wow! Super! Smashing!
