AMD Dual-Core Opteron 270 / 2 GHz processor

Advantages: Highest performing single core processor without spending £700 on a FX
Disadvantages: Its not too good at multi tasking

...The AMD 64 4000+ is the quickest and highest performing processor without spending around £500 to £800 on the FX line of AMD processors. This is an excellent chip if you want a performance boost that you can see as soon as you install it however with the new generation of dual core chips I would highly recommend one of them as they are more future proof than this processor. This processor gives your computer a nice boost to its performance, I used to run an Intel machine however changed to AMD and the AMD is definately better for gaming. In conclusion this processor is an excellent piece of engineering however with the developments in technology I would encourage people to go for the dual core technology.... Read review

...this chip is such good value, just built a new computer using this one, much faster than a 2 year old amd, runs cold, dual core. why pay for much more expensive chips when this one is does it all. comes with its own heatsink and fan, so easy to install its not big once its all assembled. i much prefer amd over intel as they perform better for the price, its easy to find motherboards that support these, that is the problem with older models that they become non supported really quickly so you are forced to upgrade everything at once, but i cant belive the difference that it makes when opening lots of files open and using it for photo editing. buy it... ...hello there i would like to take a moment to to reveiw this product.i am currently using this amd 64 processer.I installed and fitted my self. first of all i would say the overall quality of the processer is good.And is solidly built.The processer connected too the mother board inside my computer nice and easy.Installation was stait forward and easy aswell.The performance of the amd is outstanding. I often run many programs at the same time,very demanding ones at that such as cubase music editing programs so i need extremly low latency settings all the time.The amd does exactly that.
