AMD Dual-Core Opteron 880 / 2.4 GHz processor board

Advantages: Highest performing single core processor without spending £700 on a FX
Disadvantages: Its not too good at multi tasking

...The AMD 64 4000+ is the quickest and highest performing processor without spending around £500 to £800 on the FX line of AMD processors. This is an excellent chip if you want a performance boost that you can see as soon as you install it however with the new generation of dual core chips I would highly recommend one of them as they are more future proof than this processor. This processor gives your computer a nice boost to its performance, I used to run an Intel machine however changed to AMD and the AMD is definately better for gaming. In conclusion this processor is an excellent piece of engineering however with the developments in technology I would encourage people to go for the dual core technology.... Read review

...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlon processors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems. Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good... Read review

...Being a AMD fan i felt that Intel was wiping the market with there dual cores and quad cores. AMD was giving me no reason to stick by them. Until they release there new gfx card: HD 4870 (more on that in that review). Wanting to stick by them i saw this claiming to add 'True Quad core technology' i bought this. Probably the fastest processor AMD have. The Black edition lets you unlock the potential of the 'AMD overdrive'. Extremly user friendly any noob can overclock it. In the market its a above average processor only intels quad cores are faster but hey i bought mine for £129 which is good value compared too the intel processors. It does the jobs i need it to do such as run games and multitask at the same time!! It runs a tiny abit hot on intense activity a bigger fan will keep it down. But hey we're all not perfect :)...
