The AMD range of K6 processors was a bit of a god send, providing the speeds to match the Intel range of processors, but without paying out an arm and a leg for the privilege.
I made the jump from an Intel P-100Mhz to an AMD K6-2 450Mhz, and apart from some problems with the ALi chipset on the motherboard (which was solved with an updated driver) it has been running fine for months now.
I would highly recommend using this brand of CPU if you require a decent reliable processor, but without the high price of the mainstream branded chips.
It has made upgrades for many of my friends easier, and more affordable, and there is no noticable difference performance as far as I can see.
