AMD Opteron 844 / 1.8 GHz processor board

Advantages: Cheap and fast compared to equivalent Intel chip
Disadvantages: Heat

...Ok, so when most people hear that I built my own computer with an AMD processor, they think whats an AMD, is it some cheap, slow, downmarket Intel? No. Reasons for buying - Most AMD processors are bought by more computer knowledgeable people, as they can make an AMD achieve what no pentium can do - overclocking. The other reasons why people buy the AMD's, is because of their speed, and low price. Speed - AMD Processors are classified by their equivalent Intel processors, so an AMD XP1800+ can do tasks at the same speed as a 1800MHz Intel processor, and an AMD XP2200+ can do tasks at the same speed as a 2200MHz Intel Pentium 4. Actual speeds of AMD's are different however to what their name suggests. An XP1800+ runs at 1.533GHz, and an XP2200+ runs at only 1.8GHz. ...The AMD Duron is a very good alternative to the more expensive Pentium 4 and Athlon processors. Line-moderately the Duron core is based on that of the Athlon and brings therefore also Anna-honouring just as good achievement (closer information see bench mark). For fast plays with complex diagram I would recommend this processor. I have mean AMD tested computers with some running plays, which ran all very good and made no problems. Generally I am with my Duron 1.2 Ghz. Very contently. He falls hardly off and mostly only if any program not reliably runs and an error has. The AMD Duron 1.2 Ghz. runs with a Frontside bus from 2x100 MHz. This processor is meant for all Main boards, which possess a A-base. The Motherboard operates the processor with a tension of approximately 3.3 V. The price for this processor is to be decided a second good... Read review

...will hear about in a bit) and quieter than most mainstream heatsinks. The installation is simple enough as thet provide a foldout leaflet with step by step instructions with photos and in different languages. Simply pop the processor in the correct way round, clamp it in, hook over both ends of the heatsink and flip the lever over and lock to firmly affix the heatsink, thats it!!!! Now I mentioned about how good the heatsink is with cooling, thats not the half of it. The processor itself is very overclockable. At correct settings it runs at 1.8GHz. A chap on gladiators forums posted, with a CPU-Z screenshot how he clocked the core speed up to 2.5GHz (yes thats an extra 700MHz) on the original packaged AMD heatsink, no water cooling, no special thermal past other than what was on the original heatsink and the heatsink is still cold enough...
