Advantages: So many...stability, overclocks insanely & most bang for the buck. Disadvantages: None except that Intel C2Ds now yields better performance.

Finally the Opteron 165 have one other feature that it´s entry level X2 siblings are a bit short of & thats probably why its so fast in so many applications & benchmarks that i have runned
curious yet? its the doubled L2 cache (2x1MB)
FYI I´m currently running this gem @ 2.7GHz (that´s a good 900Mhz OC) & the temp is so low compared to my former AMD A64 3200+ (Venice) around 15 degrees celsius lower on the average.
I can also add that I bought this one just to OC the heck out of it, so immediately after the break-in time of 3 days I ramped up the speed adjusted the various settings in the BIOS & ran PRIME95, ORTHOS & 3DMARK06 I was utterly...

Advantages: Fast, Quiet And Most Of All Cool Disadvantages: None
...A very fast processor that comes with AMD Cool N Quiet Drivers for your motherboard.
I personally find the cpu temperature is around 29 Degrees Celcius at its hottest.
The dual core capability makes u able to set affinity for programs, so if you wanted to do a virus scan, you could set it to CPU 0, and meanwhile set all programs you need to CPU 1, therefore no speed is lost.
On the whole, as a computer builder, i have bought about 50 of these so far, and will continue to do so until a faster processor hits the shelves.
The installation was very easy, as with usual, it was just a clamp to hold the cpu down, and then the heatsink/fan presses it into complete place, ensuring it doesn't move and has maximum stability.
9 out of 10...

Advantages: Fast, Excellent MHz/£ ratio, Highly Overclockable Disadvantages: Hotter than Intel P4s, Die is more fragile.
...The AMD AthlonXP 2600+ is in my opinion the best choice for those of you thinking of upgrading, or even buying a new system. And of course I will now tell you why.
Speed
-----------
Running at an FSB of 166MHz, with the help of DDR we double that to 333MHz, the Athlon 2600+ has the equivalent speed of a Pentium 4 2.5GHz (in terms of general use) and because of its optimization with Windows XP boasts Windows processing performance better than Pentiums running faster than 2.7GHz.
In simpler terms it out-performs the Pentium equivalents in every day-to-day tasks.
For games the Athlon runs just as well if not better than the Pentium 4 2.6GHz. The only thing that AThlon XP processors seem to be slower at is hard-core video and music processing (in otherwords putting together a video clip and turning .WAV files into MP3s etc...
