Advantages: Cheap, Reliable, AMD Disadvantages: Slowish compared to better CPUs

These processors are here for the budgeters. The people who want computers for rock bottom prices. This processor is head to head with Intels Celeron processor, both of which AMD and Intel of various running speeds for these processors. These processors I believe are better ... ...up their clock speed (ghz) AMD are actually using their brains, by increasing the IPC the processor can get more things done at any one time, the added benefit of this is that the processor can run at a lower temperature becausw of the lower clock speed! this is why we get AMD Sempron 2800+ with a clock speed of 1.66ghz, The 2800+ merely indicates that this would outperform (hence the (+) at the end of the figures) an equivalent processor running ...

Advantages: Cheap, Extremely Cheap, AMD technology, Great for basic computers Disadvantages: Fairly Slow,
...as it was made by AMD my mind was immediately put at ease. Maplin were doing a blinder of a deal at the time aswell, they were doing a Motherboard and Processor package for £99.99 which i thought was not a bad price aloud me more money for my graphics card and RAM, the motherboard seemed pretty good aswell allowed me to fit my AGP 4x graphics card and 400MHZ DDR RAM which is one of the quickest rams they do at the moment.
Anyway back to the processor, ... ...computer started up, even though it is a 2400+, it is still only rated at 1660mHz, which was only maginally quicker then my old Pentium 4, For the price that i paid this was a bargain, and cheap and easy way of making your computer quicker without breaking the bank. And with the manufacturers warranty which is 1 year so i had nothing to worry about, and even if something did go wrong it would have AMD's excellent Manufacturers support. The processor ...
