Manufacturer's product description
Third-Generation AMD Opteron processors with Direct Connect Architecture can improve overall system performance and efficiency by eliminating traditional bottlenecks inherent in legacy architectures. There are no front-side buses with Direct Connect Architecture. Instead, the processors, memory controller and I/O are directly connected to the CPU and communicate at CPU speed.
Advantages: So many...stability, overclocks insanely & most bang for the buck. Disadvantages: None except that Intel C2Ds now yields better performance.
...Currently the leading budget overclocking AMD dualcore processor, why? simply becourse the price/performance ratio is ridicolous, let me explain in detail in the best of my ability.
(I´m assuming that the reader/s have some or even better knowledge about overclocking & the terms used in the semi-advanced school of computer knowledge, if youre a newbie thats fine too as I will try to write this review so that it´s understandable to some extent by everyone & reading is the key to learning, there are also plenty of guides on the net to satisfy your apetite ;) ) btw I´m no expert myself, merely a layman with a couple of self-built "puters" in my CV.
Initially the CPU cores run at 1,8GHz which is more than enough when surfing the www & playing music + having your system loaded with AV, Anti Spyware & various other apps + resource...

Advantages: Warranty, Easy Install, Very Quick, Inexpensive, Overclockable Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...will hear about in a bit) and quieter than most mainstream heatsinks.
The installation is simple enough as thet provide a foldout leaflet with step by step instructions with photos and in different languages. Simply pop the processor in the correct way round, clamp it in, hook over both ends of the heatsink and flip the lever over and lock to firmly affix the heatsink, thats it!!!!
Now I mentioned about how good the heatsink is with cooling, thats not the half of it. The processor itself is very overclockable. At correct settings it runs at 1.8GHz. A chap on gladiators forums posted, with a CPU-Z screenshot how he clocked the core speed up to 2.5GHz (yes thats an extra 700MHz) on the original packaged AMD heatsink, no water cooling, no special thermal past other than what was on the original heatsink and the heatsink is still cold enough...

Advantages: Unbelievably cheap and at no loss of performance! Disadvantages: Very confusing name
...I have been using this processor for over 6 months now and I am very impressed. The fact it has the same amount of L2 Cache as its more expensive pentium equivalent means that there is no loss in performance and no huge price tag! The processor is easily overclocked so long as you motherboard supports it, mine is currently running at 2.5Ghz this is quite and acheivement considering it is designed for 1.8Ghz. I have also heard stories of this processor being overclocked to 3Ghz however the cooling system must definitely needs upgrading in order to do this! The frame rates on 3D games using this is excellent as are loading times due to its large L2, I was going to buy the Celeon 2.0Ghz, however, after reading the reviews on it i realised that it had only half the amount of L2 hence its slightly cheaper price but at the expense of poor...
