The competition in computer industry has gone beyond the limit. We need not to worry about these all because we are getting better technology and value for money day by day. Very interesting upgrade is now in processor and random access memory. Two major players in processor category as Intel and AMD have some excellent products as a result of competition.

We are now in multicore processing era and there are many products available in this category with excellent features, performance and value for money. I have reviewed earlier some Intel processors with their ground breaking features and now the time for testing AMD's creations.
Sometime ago when we got first dual core processor, entire world surprised that how two processor can be combined with single processing unit. Now the time has changed and we have 4 cores processor as it can be rated like four different processors with single processing core.

Quad core technology is a latest one and we have many fast speed processors in our workstations and desktop PCs from quad core family. Wait for a bit and we will get even more cores in single processor. We can't imagine that what will be the next surprising revolution in processors, but at least we can guess that speed will be faster than what we have now.

Coming to this processor as it has latest technology with 4 processing cores. The core speed is mainly considerable point and we always have first look on core speed. It is inevitable also that we need some better speed processor so that core speed should be our main priority in processor as this processor has good speed with 2.2 GHz. If we have a look on latest applications than at least 2 GHz is required for almost all important applications. Windows Vista also recommends at least 2 GHz processor for better performance. This speed is good enough for quad core processor and there are still growing this speed and we also have up to 3 GHz processors also in quad core category.

Some other features of this processor should be explained and that is its front side data bus speed with about 1000 MHz and its cache memory with L2 Cache Size (KB) 512 and L3 Cache Size (KB) 2048. If I discuss about its front side data bus speed than it is an average for quad core family. I want to say here that heavy data speed generates more heat and processor can get threshold temperature so early so it is not recommended for hot climatic reasons. This processor consumes 75 W power with its 65 nm technology. So the 1000 MHz bus speed is perfect for this processor.

Second interesting point about this processor is its different cache memory with L2 and L3 both. We have seen in Intel processors that they are slightly different in terms of cache memory, with only having L2 cache memory but in large capacity. Here we are getting L2 and L3 both types of memory, slightly better one.

If we have a look on some test of this processor with latest applications than there are above average results. It is good enough for almost all regular and latest applications like Google sketch-up, CorelDraw, Photoshop and 3ds max.

If you are planning to run heavy graphics applications than also it will be better option with some dedicated memory graphics card.
So keep in mind that you are some better combination of processor, RAM and graphics memory. Only processor can't provide good performance without having proper RAM and graphics memory. So keep some good combination of these all and enjoy 21st century computing. Recommended.
