So it is a great laptop for anyone who wants something to put them through college, university, or doesn't have a lot of money to keep buying a new laptop every minute. This laptop features an AMD Turion 64 X2 mobile technology TL-50 / 1.6 Ghz processor which runs the installed 1 gb of ram. This is a reasonable amount of ram, however if you do want to upgrade the ram then you can easily upgread the 1 gb to a maximum of 4 gbs. The average amount of hard drive nowadays is 80 gbs. However dell have given you 120 gb of hard dive for this inspiron, this is great, as it just means you have so much more space to store all your data. ...The processor operates at 1.9 Ghz which is not the fastest processor in the world, the fastest in the family of processors is the Turion TL-66 at 2.3Ghz. This speed is definately not bad though, with many intel laptop processors coming in at around 1.6 Ghz to 2Ghz. The speed is definately more than fast enough for the standard home user and probably fine for business use or even professional use. Although it is not the fastest it is still reasonable, and it has to be said that being a laptop processor it can not be expected to reach the same speeds as desktop processors which I have known to reach 3.2Ghz. For anyone out there who is not technologically minded like me, and who does not understand Ghz, Mhz etc, it is quite fast, that is the simple version. Advantages: 80gb hdd AMD duo processor 64x2 , 1024 DDR2 RAM
Disadvantages: No firewire, intergrated graphics, No S-Video Port

...This is a excellent computer for either home or small office. The downside to it is that it has no firewire installed, and no S-Video port, also intergrated graphics , which uses some of your memory , therefor reducing speed a little. Having said that the AMD 64x2 dual processor make multi - tasking easy. It has Vista Home installed , this makes finding and using programmes much easier.It has a good quality DVD writer for dual format discs. It is lightweight for mobile use and very robust. For a good value laptop this is about the best for its price. It also has some software added such as Roxio for copying cd's and dvd's, it also has a 60GB hard drive for storage.
