...it excluding case for £550. What did I need specification wise. Well a computer that would last me well specification wise for the next few years - not going down the Windows Vista path and with a minumum spec. as below: • 1.4GHz Pentium M, Sempron or Turion CPU • 512 MB RAM • 60 Gig HDD • DVD Burner • Battery life ≥ 2 and a half hours The specification of this machine is: • 1.6 Ghz AMD Turion • 512 MB RAM • 60 Gig HDD • Dual Layer DVD Burner • 15.1" XGA NOISE & BATTERY:- The BIOS has an option for a silent start, and this works. A very useful feature of this notebook is when the CPU is not under stress is underclocks itself down to 800 Mhz to reduce heat and therefore fan usage. Advantages: speed, perormance, no dodgy intel media graphics

...The processor operates at 1.9 Ghz which is not the fastest processor in the world, the fastest in the family of processors is the Turion TL-66 at 2.3Ghz. This speed is definately not bad though, with many intel laptop processors coming in at around 1.6 Ghz to 2Ghz. The speed is definately more than fast enough for the standard home user and probably fine for business use or even professional use. Although it is not the fastest it is still reasonable, and it has to be said that being a laptop processor it can not be expected to reach the same speeds as desktop processors which I have known to reach 3.2Ghz. For anyone out there who is not technologically minded like me, and who does not understand Ghz, Mhz etc, it is quite fast, that is the simple version. Advantages: 15.4 inch TFT display, large hard drive capacity, lightweight and portable, fast processing speed and top notch graphics card
Disadvantages: Battery life is less than stated, location of fan, unit becomes hot very quickly

.... The laptop arrives with pre-installed Windows XP that requires registering prior to using. The actual set up process to give the laptop a name, set up a locking password and register Windows XP took no longer than 10 minutes. Although the laptop does have a port for an external mouse I find that the touchpad mouse is far more responsive that any other mouse device I've ever used, including the Logitech cordless variety. Specification wise the 5022WLMi is the top dog, it contains a Turion 64 processor with a speed of 1.6GHz, a hard drive storage capacity of 100GB and a pre-installed RAM of 1GB. Personally I use my laptop to type notes, access the Internet and to play a number of computer games.
