NetShelter VX is APC's leading-edge enclosure solution. NetShelter VX addresses many of the emerging trends and issues IT managers face today by incorporating new features and benefits that allow customers to create a more effective IT environment. Increasing server depths combined with the requirement for more effective cable management and power distribution has led to a need for deeper enclosures. Increasing power densities have led to a need for enclosures that provide superior ventilation. Varying IT requirements have led to a need for a more robust offering of enclosure sizes and options. The desire for quick deployment of IT solutions has led to a need for enclosure solutions that are easy to use and install. NetShelter VX enclosures have been designed with all of these trends in mind.

2 Years Plus…
The UPS is still going strong, very few have problems, and a warranty checker is available at http://www.apc.com if you have any problems.
The only thing that does seem to show up about the two-year mark is the battery. Many of the UPS’s we have need the battery changing in about year 2 to 3. Having said that, 2 to 3 years is not bad for battery life! I can cope with that.
New batteries from APC can be on the expensive side (Around £35+VAT), but non-APC...

Advantages: Screen Size, Features, Design / Finish, Quality, 2ms for Gaming !! Disadvantages: None found so far
...was going to have to pay for it. It was looking like it was going to cost me the best part of £300.
This was actually a little over the budget that I had set for a new screen. I found a couple of 'decent' screens, which were in budget but they were either 15" or 17". I really wanted a 19" screen.
I then came across the Viewsonic VX922 - quite by co-incidence after receiving an eMail from an online store that I use quite a lot for components etc, and my luck was in, they were having a sale on TFT screens.
After reading a couple of reviews on the screen, I decided to give it a blast. I phoned, and ordered the screen, and was actually told that I was lucky, they had just that day received in a new shipment, and they were selling fast. Apparently their last shipment lasted 3 days, they sold nearly 1000 of them !!!!
I waited...

Advantages: Increased runtime and cheaper than a new UPS Disadvantages: Replacing batteries on some models can be tricky
...After the old battery for our UPS died (being as it was second hand) I thought I would have to be purchasing a new UPS at £££ costs!! But I was really surprised to find the cost of new/nearly new APC batteries wasn't that much.
The capacity isn't great when you have only just replaced the battery but it's noticably better than an exhausted battery but after a few charges/discharged the run time is excellent.
Having used APC and Belkin UPS's the APC's of the same capacity seem to last that little bit longer (which in business during a power cut can be vital, as I found out on a couple of occasions).
So to summarise, a new battery is a very worthwhile investment for UPS's over 12 months old....
