The UPS is still going strong, very few have problems, and a warranty checker is available at http://www.apc.com if you have any problems.
The only thing that does seem to show up about the two-year mark is the battery. Many of the UPS?s we have need the battery changing in about year 2 to 3. Having said that, 2 to 3 years is not bad for battery life! I can cope with that.
New batteries from APC can be on the expensive side (Around £35+VAT), but non-APC ...

First things first, this device looks great - it's made of brushed aluminium and it has a full colour touch screen. It's seriously space age. According to the techy boffin who bought this, it is good value for money at £213 (OMG - HOW much nail polish could you buy for that??) and much better than the Phillips Pronto. I merely pass that on.
OK - the set up. Now I can do most home-orientated IT things. I was glad I was not alone with this one.

Smart-UPS RT UPSs are based on the field-proven, industry-leading Smart-UPS functionality, but feature double conversion on-line topology, which delivers tight voltage and frequency regulation, zero transfer time to and from battery, and input power factor correction. While offering advanced performance and high availability features, the Smart-UPS RT can be managed using PowerChute software, as well as an array of SmartSlot accessories. Smart-UPS RT provides battery back up to the load through the use of internal batteries. However, an unlimited number of external battery packs can be added to meet desired levels of runtime.
