I have used all of the sticks from most of the large supermarkets and one of the better ones I have used in the past, though I have none left at the moment, were the ones I bought from Asda which cost me less than 30p for the little plastic tub of 100 cocktail sticks. We used these at the party we had for the marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton, or Catherine , as she is now known.

These were a good quality little stick and very handy and versatile. They measured about 6cm in length and were nice and pointy at both ends. What I liked about these sticks were that they were nice and strong and also the wood did not splinter on them or go soggy, even when they had been stabbed in the cheese and pickles for such a long time. We threw them out once they had been used because a used cocktail stick is never a nice thing to keep. The box they come in is an oblong shape and they fit into the bottom and there is a lid on the top but when I used a few out of the pot, the ones that were left tended to splay themselves out a little bit and it was a bit hard to get the lid back on properly. I find this is a problem with cocktails sticks in general, though, and not just the ones from Asda.

These sticks were ideal for the party, because they kept all the nibbles together and we put bits of pickle and pineapple and cheese onto them and because the ends of them were so sharp, they tended to stab the food neatly and didn’t make a mess. We had to be careful with the children though, because they were very sharp.

These cocktails sticks are good value for money, I feel. They were lightweight solid good quality little bits of wood and they did a perfect job and I would be very happy to buy more of these.

I recommend these sticks to you.
