    ~~The Purchase~~ As the purse strings tighten on each shopping trip, I have found some of the more favourite products that I normally buy (in this case, Heinz tomato ketchup) are gradually been replaced with cheaper 'own brand' alternatives. In this case when last out shopping, having reviewed the price comparisons on each and every shelf in the sauce section, I decided to try the absolute bargain priced 20p Asda Smart Price Tomato Ketchup, in a jolly decent sized bottle of 550 grams.     I don't tend to shop in Asda much, purely because we don't have one close enough to home to use on a regular basis. However, I recently took a trip to our nearest one recently as I fancied a change. One of the regular items in my trolley is Tesco Value Ketchup, though obviously the equivilent from Asda is their Smartprice Tomato Ketchup, so thought I woud give it a go to see how it faired against Tescos cheap ketchup.     The wife used to be in the mindset that brand was best for some items, and Ketchup was one of them. I never used to really eat ketchup until one time we were eating out and some Chips were kind of greasy tasting. I dipped a few into the Sauce and liked how you could still taste the Chip, but didn't taste the greasiness. So now I enjoy the odd bit of Sauce with my chips. This only cost about 34p for the large glass bottle. Don't have to bottle here with me just now but think it is around the 570g's.
