Advantages: Huge menu. Trendy, yet comfortable décor. Suitable for every kind of occasion. Disadvantages: Main course portions rather miserly and over-priced for what you get on your plate.
Having spotted a "two main courses for the price of one" voucher on Money Saving Expert, dining at Ask was a no-brainer when we planned to celebrate my birthday recently. I'd never before dined at any Ask outlet, so I was very keen to give them a whirl, and the discount voucher certainly helped tip the balance.
For those of you unfamiliar with the group, Ask are a chain of Italian restaurants. Their emphasis is on informal dining in contemporary, yet trendy looking surroundings. The group has 115 different city centre outlets dotted throughout the UK, a large percentage of which are located in listed buildings or places of local interest. For example, the restaurant in Chichester (where we dined) is located in a large white Georgian looking building. Ask restaurants tend to be located in heart of city centres, thus making them ...

Advantages: Good food at reasonable prices. Disadvantages: No food delivery that day!
Bath city centre has no shortage of restaurants to offer, but many of them close between 2.30pm and 6pm. We had to catch a train just after 6.30pm and realised that we would have to settle for a chain restaurant that stayed open throughout the afternoon. My younger son had taken his girlfriend to Ask a few weeks before and recommended it. I had never been to Ask as we don't have one locally, so I was all in favour of trying somewhere new.
When we arrived at 4.30pm that Saturday the place was fairly quiet and as there were three of us we were shown to a table that was intended for four. Before I had even had chance to sit down the waitress was handing out menus but warning us that several things were not available. These included all the main course specials, salmon and ciabatta. I was a little peeved about the salmon, but I presumed ...

Advantages: Great quality, abundance of features and long bulb life. Disadvantages: Unless found reconditioned or second-hand is pretty steep!
LCD Projectors purchased new are out of the reach of most of use plebs - unless you happen to find one reconditioned, ex-rental, ex-commercial or secondhand. And that is exactly what we did!
Because of its legendary quality, tweakability and bulb-life Proxima has long been a favourite of business and commerce. Our family managed to grab one from a business that was being bought-out by another - and as a result had 4 or 5 of things floating around. We managed to purchase one off that company for about a tenth of its price which I'm sure is a steal.
Proxima, when bravely trying to challenge other established companies in the desktop projector market created a beauty. Since there are so many features I'll simply list them, give a brief explanation and state why its good/bad:
Bulb-type/Bulb-life: Projectors such as this have LED ...

Manufacturer's product description
The new ASK Proxima C445+ is the latest installation projector which has been developed specifically for system integration. The C445+ outputs 4,000 max ANSI lumens - bright enough to leave the lights-on, or the window shades open during presentations. Upgraded LCD panels feature onboard Micro-Lens Array (MLA) to eliminate pixel isolation while producing high contrast ratios and better color saturation. The C445+ is a projector that stands out from all the rest, and the affordable price point is a feature even the accounting department will enjoy.
