One thing in general and of no detrement to ASUS or this product... anyone attempting to build a PC... you must wear an ESD wrist band!... if you dont know what one is then get searching.

I build about 20 systems a year for friends and familly.
Mainly High spec gaming beasts... allthough recently (12/04) I used a A7v600-X MB for a build intended for web surfing.

The bundled software is limited to drivers etc, but everything was in the box that I required to build the PC with (disk drive cable, hard dirve cable).. you also get a metal sheild for placing around the I/O ports on the MB when installing it in the case... I must admit I had to hone my metal bashing skills to get this in... but thats more to do with the industry ATX case format then this feature packed MB, IMO.

Advantages: Has a cool led on it. Disadvantages: RAM slot 1 is V. close to the AGP port
Im always fiddling and changing things on my computer. This has 400FSB which means good potential for CPU overclocking. Sata, RAID and more USB ports than you can shake an IDE cable at. 6 PCI (which you only get on more expensive boards) means more room for expansion/GRFX coolers. Only single downside to this is that the slot 1 RAM can only be put in when the GRFX card is taken out, but really apart from that minor exception this is an excellent ... ...in the first place). There is an LED on it which lights when the power lead is plugged in which is useful when regularily opening it up. There is also 6channel sound so you dont need a 5.1 card, however if you need high quality sound for producing music then get a separate one. It seems to be faster than most because on a benchmark with a friend I had the same GFX, a slower CPU (so only 266fsb) and this mobo I still wiped the floor with him. ...

Well first off, Let me start by giving you some background on what I use my PC for.
My PC is usually used for either Graphic Design or gameplaying. I built my PC in my house with parts I bought. The ASUS Mother board is truely awsome. Not only can it support up to 3Gb of RAM, It has an award BIOS too. Its a truely awsome Mother Board.
At present, Miene has a AMD Athlon XP 2900+ Processor and it is so fast that I dont want it any faster! I love my PC now. I only have 128MB graphics and 512MB of RAM but my PC is awsome, its fast and it does exactly what I need it to do.
Its so easy to fit too. It fits into almost any reasonalby sized case. Its an easy one to work with and it comes with all the stuff youd expect. It cost me £40, not bad for a truely awsome Mother Board now is it? ...
