My 1000H has just passed its first birthday after a lot of use. It's as good as the day it was bought, with nothing going wrong/ working loose/ wearing etc -- except for the battery which now lasts around 5.5hr rather than the six I got at the start. I'll live with that, given that it's far longer than nearly all laptops and most netbooks. It's built remarkably well and feels solid and tough in use.
As for day to day use, to be honest on most days I manage perfectly well without my desktop as my little Asus does everything I need except for the desktop publishing which I do for work. Speed is remarkably good, even with mutliple windows open (well, two or three anyway). The 10" screen might be small but where I hold it on my lap means it doesn't feel small in use -- and when I use other people's 15" or 17" laptops they seem massive and unwieldy. The keyboard is, shall we say, compact, but I can type at full speed on it as it's well laid out, very responsive and strongly made.
It is, in summary, a much better buy than I thought it would be. I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
