This review is of the new asus EEE pc. Its been quite fun using and reviewing this one as its not like your usual laptops, and in many ways its a lot worse however at the end of testing it iv got to say I really like the asus EEE pc and however rubbish it might be I think I will end up buying one if some of the features just improve a little or if the higher spec editions become cheaper. I'm reviewing the new better version of the EEE pc this time as I reviewed the cheapest one last time and although it was quite good I though the amount of memory it had slowed it down and that there also wasn’t enough storage space of it.
This dearest one is about £300 at the moment although I have seen it for £260. I do think they will get cheaper in the future though just like anything does so a lot of you might want to wait a little longer before getting your hands on one of these. The asus eee pc is really small and versatile, its just 225 by 35 by 165mm which really isn't big at all. Unlike many other pc tablets of this size this one does look exactly like a laptop which is something I really like about it. It can come in a whole range of different colours however the only one I have used is the white one and is probably the one id get if I was going to buy one.
A downside from some peoples point of view is the small keyboard, now I'm not the fastest typer anyway and one this small keyboard I did tend to make even more mistakes than I usually do on a normal keyboard. This is something you do get used to though and after a couple of days using it I had noticeably got better and could type nearly as well as on a full scale keyboard. There are 2 USB ports on the right of the laptop and then a third on the left, there's also a D-Sub video output port for those who want to use an external display. There's also a card reader sunk nicely into the laptop.
It is extremely portable, its tiny design and its quite small 7 inch screen makes it so easy to take wherever you want with you. If you are worried about the 7 inch screen being too small then just don't be, its easy to get used to. Granted I couldn't actually use this as a normal laptop at home however on the move its just a perfect size. Its battery life is a pretty good 3.5 hours. Which I think could have been better as some full sized laptops are now boasting an amazing 7 hours of battery life. However this does just have a 3 cell battery pack which is half the normal laptop battery pack. It is also really light barely weighing just 1kg its really portable and will barely make a dint in your pocket.
Unlike the other one I reviewed this one has double the amount of ram and at 1gb it actually runs really fast. It still doesn’t have a massive hard drive though and this edition of it only has 8gb, most of which is already taken up by the operating system however its possible it put at the maximum 32gb just into the card slot and if you have an external hard drive or just a usb stick you could really have as much hard drive space as you want so this isn't a huge problem.
There is a webcam, speakers and even a microphone which is on the under side of the laptop, these are things I just wouldn't expect for a laptop of its size however it's a good surprise that it has these great features built into it. I feel I better mention the Linux operating system, I'm really not sure why they have choose this over windows, perhaps it is easier to use and more child friendly than windows it. But that it what it feels like. You can however change it to windows if you want, apparently the programs you need to do this now comes in the box however it didn't with the one I tested so I am unsure about this. However I'm sure you could find help online or even et somebody to do it for you as I don't suppose it would be hard to do.
Advantages: Ultra portable Disadvantages: less features
Asus Eee PC 900
*************
Asus Eee PC series notebooks are generally for mobile purpose. These are something like palmtop but the screen size and configurations are generally higher than palmtops. Eee PCs are extremely portable and have a very light weight with good design and look. I am taking Eee PC 900 here for discussion about its some good features and its advantages, and disadvantages also.

...applications. In saying this, the Asus Eee range is capable of playing some modern games at reasonable standard if they are ran from an external harddrive. The latest Asus Eee model for example could run games like World of Warcraft and Left 4 Dead, along with other resource hungry software titles if you have knowledge of overclocking and using external hardware. Advantages: Very portable, very quiet, cool, easy to use interface, cracking little processor Disadvantages: Not for everyone because of a lack of space
During my recent search for a laptop i found this rather smart looking item and decided to check it out. The first thing that struck me was the tiny size. I began to wonder what they could have put inside with it being so small. I was pleasantly suprised to find the new Atom processor running at 1.6ghz. This may sound like a cut down version of other intel processors but it isn't quite that. In fact it is custom designed by Intel for the internet. ... ...are also well handled by this new processor and in a wonderful stroke of design Intel have managed to make an almost silent processor. It is extremely quiet. The processor fan's quietness is one thing but the more suprising thing is the temperature. The fan doesn't have to make a noise because the new processor is so cool and thus means less stress on the components. The screen is naturally rather small but is perfectly clear and not too shiny. The ...

Advantages: small , light, great wifi Disadvantages: poor memory, short battery life, no cd drive
The eee series is very beautiful if your looking for a easy to use small portable laptop this is the one, the only downside is the linux based system but I now have Xp up and running it cost me an extra 50.00 but is well worth it, this was originally made for kids to encourage homework studies but has not been adopted by the older generation.
This laptop is strictly for internet and studying purposes do not buy if you want to play games or dvds ... ...not got the memory to cope with memory eating software.
It has built in wifi which i was very impressed with its more powerful then the one on my pc.
But all in all this is a very impressive little computer that should not be underestimated with its high speed internet connection ...

Advantages: Small and lightweight with good screen and keyboard size Disadvantages: 3-cell battery only lasts 2 hours so buy one with a 6-cell battery
...I bought the MSI Wind U100 in October 2008 whilst on holiday in the US for just $380 and it is one of the best purchases I have made in the last year.
I have used it every day since then and have had no problems at all with it. It is extremely portable due to its small size and low weight and does everything I need it to. My primary use for it is surfing the internet and typing up reports. I also make use of the built in card reader to transfer pictures from my digital camera.
I was originally going to buy an AsusEeePC901 but after trying it at a shop alongside the MSI Wind, I found the MSI netbook to be much better due to the larger screen and keyboard. In my opinion it also looks better and seems to be more durable.
The only bad thing I can think of about my netbook is that it has a 3-cell battery that only lasts 2 hours. It is...
