Coming to the performance, don’t expect it to shine as it s glossy surfaces does. The main bottleneck of the netbook is its Z520 processor, running at 1.33 GHz which does not do justice to the netbook at all. Running High resolution HD Videos showed up lags at times. The netbooks graphics subsystem is Intel GMA 500 which support s acceleration of 1080p VC-1, AVC HD (h.264) along with MPEG-2 Video. The net book is not for gaming and gamers should seriously stay away from this product. The File read/write tests showed up good results. The 160 GB HDD ensures that you don’t run out of free space soon. Apart from that, Asus gives you free 10 Gb of online space, where you can upload your file to and access them anytime, anywhere. The 1GB RAM will be sufficient for daily work until you decide to rip apart demons of Doom3 on the netbook. Conectivity freaks should be quite satisfied with the option this netbook provides. Along with WirelessLan, you also get bluetooth. Ports include 3 for USB, 1 for LAN, a Headphone in and 1 mic-out. It also has a card reader which supports SD, MMC, MS and MS PRO cards. The Eee PC 1101HA also gives you the option of connecting another monitor to it by providing a VGA port. Great for movie buffs. The netbook also comes with a 0.3 MP camera. Neat!
Coming to the Physical looks and feel, the netbook is sure to impress you. The lock button, the ports, the layout are all pleasing. I couldn’t find too many cons with the outer cover of the netbook. The touch pad is great. The keyboard is well designed with evenly spaced out keys which is appealing to eyes. The color quality is also acceptable. The LED’s for showing various features like the status of Wireless LAN, battery status etc are placed out nicely with blue LED all placed on the right side of the netbook
The Asus Eee PC 1101HA comes with a carry case, support DVD, cleaning cloth (yea that too haha), along with the basics like the user manual, battery and the power adapter.
Verdict The Asus Eee Pc 1101HA is yet another revolutionized product by Asus. At a price tag of $530 it’s quite expensive for the type of hardware it provides. Nevertheless, if your daily work involves working with documents, watching movies, listening to music and all those kind of stuff then, this netbook is purely meant for you. Giving an 8 hrs video playback time in my own tests, this netbook is sure to impress. Moreover, with the glossy finish, and the overall well design this chic is sure to make you oogle at.
If you swear by Asus and don’t mind giving an extra bit of cash, then highly recommended!
