Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 32 GB

ASUS is still gaining popularity in circles of professionals and users. The brand builds for the future through innovation and sometimes quite striking choices. New models have an Android OS. It's a tablet but with a keyboard docking station annex, with features like 16 hours battery life.

It's been a while more and more exciting between Apple and Android. The choice of ASUS for Android when it comes to new models, makes the race between the two more interesting. Why this choice? According to ASUS, the reason is that the Android operating system is growing faster than Apple's iPhone OS. Another reason that ASUS puts forward, is namely that the number of downloadable apps from the Apple App Store competitor 'Market' is rapidly increasing.

There are four different versions with the basic version being a 10.1 inch tablet transformer. It has a 1280 x 800 IPS capacitive touch system. The Android version is 3.0 Honeycomb and is designed specifically for tablets. Naturally, the Transformer has WiFi. The processor is a powerful dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2. Who extends the basic model with the docking station, can simply connect the keyboard with the screen, and thus the device quickly transforms into a real netbook.

The most common problem with a tablet is the battery. The docking station of the transformer is therefore provided with an extra battery, and thus the standard life of eight hours doubled. Also the docking station's charges the battery of the table during use on the tablet itself. If the tablet again is detached from the keyboard, the battery is fully charged without even noticing. It also provides two additional USB docking ports. The tablet itself has a back and front camera.

The Transformer comes with a 16 GB SSD storage, but also with 32 GB. You can buy a Transformer with or without docking station for around 430 pounds.

For me this Transformer was the perfect solution. I always loved the idea of a normal tablet but always more as a extra than as a replacement of my laptop. Now it’s the perfect combination. I can use the transformer as a tablet in the train for when I want to go on the internet, but for example writing a review I connect the docking station and have therefore a normal laptop which makes it easier to write reviews. I wasn’t disappointed with the battery life of the tablet itself but it won’t last the whole day and therefore again the docking station is handy. It’s not heavy so I can easily take it with me when I know I will be out all day long. The android system is a big plus as I’m a fan of android with all its applications and I have an android phone. For me it’s perfect and therefore five stars.
