Asus Lamborghini VX2S-AK001G
Sometime before Asus was the main player of graphics and motherboard market, but now Asus has given equal priority to notebook market also and they have launched many laptops in lower range to higher range. In middle range laptop market there are lots of competition and many brands are there but higher level market don't have such kind of competition so that Asus has launched good featured heavy graphics loaded excellent notebook 'Asus Lamborghini VX2S-AK001G', and it is in popular 15.4" display series category with comparatively fully featured and highly configured notebook I have seen ever. Asus has given equal priority to build quality also and this notebook looks solid and having attractive feel with beautiful yellow coated and under 3kg of weight.
***
Here my discussion points will be its features with advantages and disadvantages also.
***
First of all I am going to discuss about its processor, the mind in computing machine and this laptop has excellent processor Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 with clock speed of 2.2 GHz, front size bus speed is 800 MHz, and the next important point is its L2 cache size which is 4MB. If we have a look on processor than it has superb 2.2 GHz of speed with 4MB of L2 cache, it is excellent for gaming as well as 3D applications also. Now a day's all Vista compatible applications require better processing speed as well as good system memory also.
***
So the next point is its memory size and the laptop here going to be some lack of memory, they have provided 2MB DDR2 SDRAM - 667 MHz, and there are no further option to upgrade it, so it is very disappointing feature that this notebook has a maximum compatibility of 2MB of system memory, but as other aspects it is more better than its rivals. 2MB memory is not bad as general purpose of using this notebook, but if we are going to use this as in higher 3D graphics applications than good memory will be also required with better graphics card or video memory.
***
Now the best feature of this notebook is its excellent graphics memory with NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, with 512 MB f total available graphics memory. 8600Gt is a budget graphics card with good graphics memory, but the excellent card in 8 series is 8800GT but that is very costly now. So considering its graphics memory this laptop is excellent in terms of graphics memory and can provide thrilling gaming experience with its whopping 512MB of total available video memory.
***
Battery (impressed me lots)
This laptop also has an excellent feature that is its battery capacity, providing 8-cell Lithium Ion battery which is generally not a common thing in all other laptop because most of them have a traditional 6 cell battery. Here I was very impressed with its battery, I always have a problem with the batteries of laptop because 6 cell battery have average about 2 hours of back-up and that is very little and disappointing but Asus has given a excellent feature but providing 8 cell battery where we can go up to 4 hours of back-up in 15.4" series of notebook.
***
And in terms of storage media, they also provided SATA drive with 7200RPM capacity instead of 5400RPM, with 200GB of storage capacity. This drive is also meant for provide a better DATA transfer speed, but they have reduce its size to 200GB, acceptable good and enough size.
***
Operating system is also best in VISTA with Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate with all other important features that is something like common in all other notebooks.
***
Over all conclusion
I think this notebook is excellent in terms of processing speed, graphics capacity, battery back-up time and operating system, but cost is much higher, over all highly recommended.
