The ASUSM2NPV-VM Motherboard for AMD single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and Dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon FX processors using socket AM2 is very user friendly, I went with AMDs 64 x2 3800+ processor in the beginning then moved up to 4200+ 2Gb Ram without any hassle, very easy to setup and fits easily in a standard ATX case. A possible downside to the board is that it has a limited number of slots due to being a micro ATX sized board. That's not a big deal for me as the only two cards I'll be buying in the future is Graphics and a extra Lan card.

Asus is a trusted Motherboard manufacturer. It is known for producing reliable, cheap and good performance motherboard.
I have recently configured a New Desktop having an ASUSN73-AM motherboard installed on it. I have checked the PC for different environment like Gaming, Programming, General surfing etc. I find it a Good Performer and graphics is also ok.
The main features of this motherboard are:
-Supports Intel 45 nm multi-core processors(bothe core 2 duo and quard)
- FSB 1333/1066/800/533 MHz (1333 Mhz for faster data transfer)
- DDR2 800(OC)/667/533 (Up to 800 Mhz Fsb for great performance)
- NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / nForce 610i
- Integrated NVIDIA CineFX 3.0 graphics(Good for Gaming)
- 4 x SATA 3Gb/s with RAID function (Faster data Access)
- 8-channel High Definition Audio(Connect 8 channels at a time..Parallel 3+3 ...
Advantages: the performance, quality, the price, plays all modern games Disadvantages: you must check if it fits in your case because of the cooling system

ASUS EN8600GT SILENT
I am surprised not too see many other reviews about these Asus. This Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT Silent is simply brilliant. Not only is relatively inexpensive but also has great quality/performance level too and, as the name says, it is silent! Thanks to the new cooling system adopted by Asus which doesn't involve a fan. Quite a wonder to my ears really. I had enough of cooling fans breaking down and forcing you to buy a completely new graphic card (just because they don't sell the cooling fans alone) and those annoying rattling noises which occurr when they start to deteriorate.
