Hi all my first review here we go this motherboard is a standard board for any intel/amd processor its fairly basic as with 2 memory slots and 3 card slots so if you have a lot of memory etc this particular model would probabbly only be a hinderance rather than a help. my theory is if your new to building PCs go with this model to start with as it has the basics you require and is a good cheap model to build up your confidence with i would not recommned this product to anyone seriously into building as i am sure they will tell you it wouldnt meet there capacities but for beginners or as a first PC for kids this motherboard is excellent value and you should find it easy to use ...
Advantages: Easy installation, compatible with a wide range of cpu's, FSB speeds... Disadvantages: Esata port does not work properly
I purchased this motherboard recently to upgrade my PC to Core 2 Duo, I chose this motherboard because of the external sata port which I wanted to connect an external hard drive to. Installation was simple and the drivers disc installed everything necessary for Windows XP but the external Sata port would not detect the external drive, I emailed Asus who over the course of a week had me install several different drivers but none of them helped and eventually they said that I should return the board - I haven't returned the board becuase I haven't got another computer but to be honest I don't think the port is faulty I jus think the drivers (jmicron chipset) are completely useless because the supplied driver is a RAID driver even though this board does not have RAID capability. ...

After the capacitors started to bulge on my 6 year old Abit TH7-II RAID board (see other review), I found myself needing a replacement Pentium 4 motherboard quickly. I didn't have much money to spend, fortunately one of my mates who was upgrading to a Core2 donated me his old P5GPLX-SE.
This board uses the Intel Grantsdale 915PL / ICH6 chipset and supports the Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron D processor in socket LGA 775 format.
