Manufacturer's product description
P5M2/SAS is based on latest Intel Xeon processor 3000 sequence (at FSB1066MHz), Intel 3000 MCH, Intel ICH7R and Intel 6702 PXH 64-bit PCI Hub chipset, which achieves 102% better performance (SPECjbb2005) and 69% reduction in processor power (65W compared with 110W) than its predecessor, to provide immediate dual-processor level performance scale-up.
Advantages: Good quality, good build, high end specifications. Disadvantages: Funny little heatsinks.
...AsusP5N32 SLi Deluxe nForce 4 Motherboard
It would be possible to go on forever about this device, but I intend to keep the techno babble to a minimum. Or at least that's the plan. As such I'm going to go through the main features in detail and then talk a little bit about the other bits.
The motherboard is very well designed and if anyone is interested comes with a slick black finish to the PCB (printed circuit board) and some interesting heatsinks draped across the board.
The first thing I thought when I saw these heatsinks was 'bugger'. They look pretty and they mean that you have no whiney little 40mm fans on the board (the smaller the fan the more high pitched the noise it produces, generally you can get fans between 12mm and 180mm). This cleaver design of heatsink also allows for the mounting of optional fans that come...

Advantages: cheap overclocking abilities gd looking build quality highly upgradable Disadvantages: asus wbsite very slow when wanting to dl updates
...if you are looking to upgrade your pc for gaming on a tight budget this is the best place to start for £70 you deffinatley get your moneys worth with all the features included
i bought mine when they was first released it was buggy but once the bios was updated all was fine
this board is the heart of one of my kick ass machines and that is exactly what it will do
This Motherboard is certified for SLI use
my only bad point
asus website very slow when wanting to download updates
why pay £150 for a striker extreme when this is half that
p.s my freind has the striker and i dont feel a diference at all apart from the striker boots up slower too much junk in its bios
the p5n is stripped to the core for performance all unneeded removed
it is easy to install and set up with good istructions to do so
and will even fit...

Advantages: Inexpenisve, good performance, lots of ports and slots Disadvantages: Ports a bit cluttered, no WiFi
...computer case, but the layout of the ports on the back, such as USB and Audio/Mic jacks is not the best. Its very cluttered and often is a challenge to get to. My previous motherboard (also from Asus) had a similar issue and I had to make quite an effort to plug/unplug anything from the back. Other than that its done pretty well and everything on the actual board is color coded so that you can plug everything in quite easily, should you be upgrading or building your machine from scratch.
The slots on the motherboard are:
Socket 478 (for Pentium 4 CPUs)
4 DDR SDRAM DIMM slots
AGP 8x
5 PCI
WiFi slot (not actually useful unless you buy the WiFi card from Asus for a lot of money)
ATX power
FDD
2 IDE
2 SerialATA
2 USB 2.0 (for external wiring)
COM port
Game port
Audio/mic jacks
Ethernet
Fan controller...

I have been using this product for a while now and it is a great mid range motherboard. It supports Intel Dual core chips, has 2 RAM slots and PCI - Express slots. This means that although the product is very realiable and relativly cheap, I would not... more
Hi, The model here, the ASUS M2N-E has proved itself over the last year. I built several systems using this motherboard and so far it has been well up to ASUS' usual standard and for me it is the natural successor to my previous one (A8N-E). My comments more
