The P5MT serverboard series supports the advanced Intel Pentium D dual-core processor with 1066MHz FSB (front side bus) to provide immediate CPU performance scale up. Combined with EM64T (Extended Memory 64 Technology) and 64-bit operating system (OS) support, the serverboards deliver enhanced computing capability and memory performance (8GB memory). In addition, the P5MT series enables implementation of unbuffered ECC DDR II 533 and 677, providing a minimum of 25% performance gain compared with DDRII 400. Designed for small-to-medium-size businesses, the P5MT series offer superb expandability for corporate growth. The serverboards adopted a wide array of the latest input/output technology including PCI Express, PCI-X and PCI to ensure easy upgrade for future needs. Asus also includes a LSI MegaRAID to provide additional SATA RAID 0, 1 and 10 with complete driver support for Windows, RedHat and SuSE Linux (RAID 5 for Windows only) operating systems. Reliability and data protection are the main concerns for information management engineers when building server systems. The P5MT series incorporated SCSI RAID on Windows and Redhat and SuSE Linux for complete driver support with additional OS/data integrity protection. PCI-X- ZCR (zero channel RAID) card provides cost-effective hardware RAID 5, 10 and 50 upgrade. ASUS also includes a LSI MegaRAID to provide additional SATA RAID 0, 1 and 10 with complete driver support for Windows, RedHat and SuSE Linux (RAID 5 for Windows only) operating systems.
...The AsusP2B is a stable and feature rich motherboard. It replaced a TMC motherboard I had which had ‘issues’ with Nvidia graphics cards. Since the swap my computer has been more stable in general use, as well as when the graphics card is working hard. Asus support the board well, a recent BIOS update added APCI power saving support. You get onboard USB, two EIDE channels, floppy disk controller, two serial ports, one parallel port and two ps/2 ports and the option to connect an infra red port. Wow! There’s lots of setup options to keep the tweakers happy and even the option of an Asus network card, which adds wake on LAN capability. Asus even have free motherboard monitoring/trouble shooting software available for download! If your slot 1 computer crashes a lot, try changing motherboards – you could be pleasantly surprised....

Best board I have had Review ofASUS AMD 761 Chipset A7M266 - motherboard - ATX - AMD-761by

Advantages: Very stable Disadvantages: Quite expensive
...I had recently had to make the decision on whether to upgrade my motherboard to another SDRAM board or to change to DDR. I decided that DDR was the way to go, as it is so cheap at the moment (same price as PC133). So, now I had to decide on one of two boards, the Gigabyte 7DX, which a friend of mine owns, and the Asus A7M266. Both were very similar to each other except the price, the Asus is a little dearer. However I have read reviews of both, and the Asus seemed to come with better software and was also said to have better overclocking abilities. This swung it for me. The Asus it was to be. This board has been better than expected; it is a lot more stable than my old one. It can also be overclocked a hell of a lot more....

Advantages: Reliable, features, value, support Disadvantages: none that I can find
...When looking for a motherboard for my brand new socket 939 processor I looked at the available options from my favourite supplier, ASUS.
I've used ASUS for a few computers now, from a cheapo A7V8X-X, to a top-of-the-line socket A board the A7V880 (socket A WITH dual channel) and I even have an ASUS cooler and an ASUS graphics card.
ASUS do no errors here neither, with the A8V Deluxe which has the stability ASUS are renowned for as well as every feature which is available. SATA, SATA Raid, IDE RAID, Firewire, Gigabit Ethernet, Dual Channel, AGP... what else could a computer builder want?
I bought this OEM so everything had to be downloaded from the net, which is easy and quick. The installation procedures are simple and there's no silly flash programs to 'help the baffled'. I love the ASUS probe software, which is small and very...
