ASUS M2N68 - motherboard - ATX - nForce 630a

Advantages: Very good cost/benefit ratio, like the overclocking, like the bios
Disadvantages: very bad pin and port placement

the individual connectors outside of the cabinet and then connect to the board as one plug. Fortunately it has the same format as the M2N68, but unfortunately I cannot use it because it raises the connectors too high, taking space from one of the only available HD bays. Good board, but very bad planning. Even on my large full-atx cabinet, connecting everything was an unpleasant challenge. I do not recommend this board for anyone with a slim or reduced-size cabinet, or anyone who works with 4 hd's. And contrary to CIOS's description of 5 SATA ports, it has 4. ...

Disadvantages: asus wbsite very slow when wanting to dl updates

if you are looking to upgrade your pc for gaming on a tight budget this is the best place to start for £70 you deffinatley get your moneys worth with all the features included i bought mine when they was first released it was buggy but once the bios was updated all was fine this board is the heart of one of my kick ass machines and that is exactly what it will do This Motherboard is certified for SLI use my only bad point asus website very slow when wanting to download updates why pay £150 for a striker extreme when this is half that p.s my freind has the striker and i dont feel a diference at all apart from the striker boots up slower too much junk in its bios the p5n is stripped to the core for performance all unneeded removed it is easy to install and set up with good istructions to do so and will even fit ...

MSI K7n420Pro nForce Motherboard

Advantages: Value for money, competent integrated hardware (especially the sound)
Disadvantages: Geforce2 MX a little dated for todays games

I was building a PC on a budget over a year ago, and was looking for a solution that offered a good price/performance ratio. It was then that I stumbled across a new concept in motherboards - nVidias nForce chipset. >Overview< --------------- This MSI motherboard utilises nVidia's nForce chipset. nVidias nForce (now superceded by the nForce2 and 3) was and is a milestone in motherboard technology. Never before had so many competent technologies been bundled into one board. The chipset main features are: Support for Duron/Athlon/XP processors with an FSB of 100/133mhz ...and thus 200/266mhz DDR RAM memory in DUAL CHANNEL mode. Integrated nVidia Geforce2MX-class 'crush' graphics Integrated nVidia SoundStorm Dolby Digital 5.1 sound Onboard Networking As far as CPU support goes, I think this goes up to the Athlon XP ...
