ASUS Pundit P3-PH5 - no CPU

Advantages: Cheap,Upgradeale, Easy to Setup, Compact, Consealed slots

...I have been using my Asus technologies Pundit P1-PH1 of just over a year and a half now without any problems I wanted to build a computer without the hastle and wanted to get a better spec than what was available on the high street or from companies such as Dell The P1-PH1 is a small compact barebones unit which you can configure and spec to your level or budget, Asus have many barebones units available but I chose this one as it was small compact and did not take up much room on a desk. Advantages: Optical out, 2 LAN out
Disadvantages: SLI only x 8 mode, for me thats no worry.

...I am really impressed with this board. Installation was easy & overclocking capabilities is outstanding and higly configurable . Comes with Vista drivers. This board clocks easily up to 1225mhz, 1200mhz proved very stable. Asus Probe II that comes with the package is a great tool for protecting components from high tempratures. The motherboard minimum temp warning can be set from 70° upwards (hom much confidence Asus?), although I never had it above 50° Asus Q-Fan2 allows for up to 4 chassis & CPU fan to run quiet, no more need for front bezel fan controllers. 3 different setting can be aplied to chassis fans & CPU independently. Only con is PCI Express slots running in x 8 mode when used in SLI cofuguration, but you only have to worry about this when using big gun cards like the 8800GTX. NOTE: Use DDR2-1200 to make way for a blast!!!... Read review

...When looking for a motherboard for my brand new socket 939 processor I looked at the available options from my favourite supplier, ASUS. I've used ASUS for a few computers now, from a cheapo A7V8X-X, to a top-of-the-line socket A board the A7V880 (socket A WITH dual channel) and I even have an ASUS cooler and an ASUS graphics card. ASUS do no errors here neither, with the A8V Deluxe which has the stability ASUS are renowned for as well as every feature which is available. SATA, SATA Raid, IDE RAID, Firewire, Gigabit Ethernet, Dual Channel, AGP... what else could a computer builder want? I bought this OEM so everything had to be downloaded from the net, which is easy and quick. The installation procedures are simple and there's no silly flash programs to 'help the baffled'.
