Advantages Advantages features and accessories rich; great overclocking potential; fastest mobo out there

Disadvantages Disadvantages some bugs, but nothing that can't be dealt with if you're prepared

I was very hesitant to buy this motherboard - firstly because of the stability issues that I'd read about, and secondly because of the price, which at the time was high for a motherboard. However, after looking at the Asus forums, I was confidant that I could overcome any problems that I encountered. When I set up my new system, I was immediatly faced with the notorious 'CPU INIT' error when I attempted to power up the PC. However, as I had read the forums and knew about the problem, I could easily deal with it - as opposed to sending for a replacement straight away, which I've heard many ... more

Disadvantages Disadvantages only garantees QVL memory

the Asus Striker Extreme the best motherboard for gamers with the technology SLI, the best motherboard I ever had, its a bit pricy but is worth every penny that you spend on that motherboard. Excelent on overclocking, very good features, supports all intel processors from pentium 4 to core 2 quad, even my internet connection is faster now with this motherboard, the only problem that I have with it is the memory because it requires QVL memory and my one isn't. Very easy instalation mainly with the q-connector, its real good, I highly recommend people to buy this motherboard. a few number of ... more

Advantages Advantages Supposed to be the bees knees

Disadvantages Disadvantages more like a knacked nag - only fit for the glue factory

I own one of these and THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY. It is slow to start up It is finnicky It is, like all motherboards, poorly designed so that you can\'t get the full use out of the expansion slots. It does odd things - sometimes the fans don\'t run at full speed, sometimes the LED post at the back flashes when the PC is off - sometimes it freezes for no reason. It hates CPU\'s, RAM, GPU\'s and anything else you put on it. I had to clear the CMOS just to get it to accept my Core 2 Duo E6600 chip. It hates having more than 2Gb of RAM in it, so I was forced to RMA my other 2 Gb of Crucial ... more

Advantages Advantages very good CPU and RAM over clocker

Disadvantages Disadvantages large amount of stability issues including RAM, CPU and BIOS errors

Stricker Extreme is one of the mother boards that customers love but also hate, the large amount of feature on the board itself makes it an amazing gaming and testing board. The back LCD screen is a massive improvment to any board, just as much as the BIOS as it features flawless overclocking without limit, till this day my cpu works at 20% overclocked and yet to have issues. this mother board is known to have issues with its BIOS and RAM slot, but can be easily fixed with an experianced computer user. i do not recomend this motherboard to starters as it is very hard to operate and if issius ... more
