Manufacturer's product description
The FireMV series of professional 2D graphics cards boasts innovative low profile dual monitor design, which means that all FireMV cards will fit into both Low Profile and Full Height systems. This enables integration into a wide range of machines with a smaller number of cards to qualify. The same applies for the new low profile FireMV quad monitor cards - their super space efficient architecture lets you choose even the smallest systems - including docking stations - and still be able to achieve simultaneous output to four displays. The FireMV design utilizes passive cooling for a higher mean time between failures (MTBF) providing greater reliability. Its inherently lower power consumption helps reduce the overall power load without sacrificing performance - an increasingly important benefit to sites with a large installed user base.

Advantages: a TV for less then 40.00 pounds Disadvantages: nothing much
...Have a big motitor but no TV, or simply want to have TV on your computer, want to do video editing at a small price....
then the WINTV PCI card is for you, inexpensive, easy to install, user friendly, and if you have a cameras you can plug it in to the composite input of the WinTV PCI card and have a web cam!!!!!
But a computer monitor wasn't made for TV and the image quality although good isn't the best compared to a real TV.
For TV capture there were only 2 names to remember: ATI and Pinnacle
ATI: well know for there graphic cards capable of DVD decoding, TV acquisition, 3d accelerator,....
Pinnacle: the leader in video capture!
now these two may be the best but are most certainly the most expensive! Here Hauppauge gets in the picture. there winTV card is inexpensive, well made and with an image quality comparable to the 2 leaders...

Advantages: Fantastic laptop Disadvantages: One or two minor niggles
...® MOBILITY™ RADEON™ X600 chip comes with 128 MB of external DDR VRAM, and features the ATI POWERPLAY™ 5.0 and supporting PCI Express™ and Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0.
There's DualView™ support and it has MPEG-2/DVD hardware-assisted capability. I don't know, either! But what I DO know is that the graphics are very good and that I can play graphics hungry games on my Acer 9100 that my previous laptop (a Compaq Presario) could not even dream of running. (Yes, it probably is a bit pathetic to use such a powerful beast to play games but even I have to have a rest from writing sometimes!)
It also has S-video/TV-out (NTSC/PAL) support (the TV tuner is multi-regional) and it comes with Aspire CinemaVision™ video technology (AKA the Aspire Arcade)
It comes complete with an in-built microphone, an audio system with two built in speakers (don't all laptops...

Advantages: AGP Interface, DX10. No additonal power conectors, Very quite. Disadvantages: Very very poor driver support
...The Radeon 2XXXX series of cards have been largely publicised. ATI showing that it can still produce market leading high end graphic cards. Cards that would give their archrival, Nvida a run for their money. And they also had an ace up their sleeve. ATI announced that these cards would be available on the now aging AGP platform.
Since the newer PCI graphic interface was released, replacing the trusty but aging AGP interface, graphic card manufactures seised to produce cards that would run on AGP. Instead focusing their attentions on PCI. Thus alienating a large proportion of users. Users wanting to upgrade their graphic cards to play the latest games were now forced into a corner, paying hundreds of pounds to upgrade their motherboards, cpu and memory. Something that a lot of users just could not do.
All of the 2XXXX seris of cards...
