Advantages: Fast and quiet Disadvantages: Lack of instructions
...Can you possibly fill in 80GB worth of data on your computer?
I can - all those MP3s, applications and games meant that upgrading from an exisiting 10 GB drive was essential.
Costing around £80, the Deskstar 120GXP did not come with any fixtures or fitting, leads or indeed, instructions.
If you are au fait with PC upgrades, all very well, if not you may want someone who is to install it for you.
After 'cloning' the data from my 10 GB drive to the 80GB Deskstar 120GXP the first thing I noticed is how very quiet the drive is - only the flashing red LED on the front of the PC gives it away.
The drive runs at 7,200 RPM so is considerably faster than old 5,400 RPM drives. You certainly notice the difference - Windows loads faster and games and applications too.
Reviews in magazines have questioned the lifespan of this drive...

Advantages: quality product Disadvantages: poor product support
...i have 2 of these hdd in my box at the moment and am very happy with them
lets go into a little more detail
the drive is a 3 1/2" form factor drive which will fit into 99% of pcs
the ease of instalation is realy dependant upon the case its going in but in a quality case you could install one of these in less that 2 minuits.
the capacity of the drive is aproximatly 80gb a real gig is 1024 , drive manufactures discovered that making a gig
1000 meg makes a drive bigger . then there is the shrinkage factor when partitioning and formatting etc. so on average the drive will be around 76 gig.
the drives are not the quietest in the world but for the price are very good i would recomend these drive to anyone that is either building a new system or just needs more storage space...

Advantages: Extreamly large (though in most cases unnessecery) disk space, fast! Disadvantages: Practicality
...Okay wow 250 Gigabytes of hard disk space sounds extreamly useful and probably makes you want to buy it with out considering other factors (for me anyway..) but when you look at it you have to ask your self "How am I going to make use of all this space?" and even if you some how manage to answer that question you will have to apriechate how long it will take you to format, defrag and check for errors (despite the very fast file transfer speeds). Now there are a lot of posible disadvantages to buying such a capacity of HD storage space for the average computer user, But if your part of a buisness (home or otherwise) then this would be an ideal solution to ensure you won't ever run out of space to store important documents, programs and other nessecery examples. So my final advice would be to only purchace this if you are in REAL need...
