Advantages: Extreamly large (though in most cases unnessecery) disk space, fast!
Disadvantages: Practicality

...Okay wow 250 Gigabytes of hard disk space sounds extreamly useful and probably makes you want to buy it with out considering other factors (for me anyway..) but when you look at it you have to ask your self "How am I going to make use of all this space?" and even if you some how manage to answer that question you will have to apriechate how long it will take you to format, defrag and check for errors (despite the very fast file transfer speeds). Now there are a lot of posible disadvantages to buying such a capacity of HD storage space for the average computer user, But if your part of a buisness (home or otherwise) then this would be an ideal solution to ensure you won't ever run out of space to store important documents, programs and other nessecery examples. So my final advice would be to only purchace this if you are in REAL need... Read review

...The hard drive is meant to be used internally but I use mine as an external hard drive with an USB external enclosure. The drive might not be the fastest around but it is fast enough to use for those large files that makes life difficult. The fact that it uses SATA makes faster than IDE hard drives of the same size. The SATA also makes it very stable and up to date with the latest technology. I like the fact that you can buy it for such a low price as well. The only disadvantage I can think of is that when you damage the hard drive you won't be able to retrieve 250 GB of data. I hope this helps everyone who is thinking of buying one.... Read review

Advantages: Small footprint, quiet in operation
Disadvantages: Runns rather hot

...I bought this to use as backup for photos and video etc from my main drive. I kept it powered off and only powered it up and used it every two weeks to backup any changes. Was devastated when one day it popped up with "This drive is not formatted, format it now?". The drive had been looked after carefully in a well ventilated position where it could not be moved or knocked etc and was only ever powered down after ejecting to ensure that no data writing was taking place when it was being shut down. I have used all the latest disk and file recovery tools to try to recover the FAT table and files etc but without success. 250Gb of data LOST. Very disappointed that it had such a short life!...
