In my opinion, AVG IS8 is the most searched protection software for in ease of use and a high level of security. It has an interesting user interface and simple installation. The software has 12 main components/features, there are anti-virus, anti-spyware, anti-spam, firewall, anti-rootkit, system tools, e-mail scanner, license, linkscanner, web shield, resident shield and update manager. When I click on each feature, I can read the description of the function of feature/component and it's status.
The database is so perfect, and I can get the updater files for free and easily in internet, just click on button "update now" on main menu. I usually update it when the application informs me that the database for anti virus and anti spyware is out of date ( once in 8 days ), but I have never found other components is out of date. The updater files have small size, maximum 500 kb, but the update manager automatically perform updating every day ( even the automatic updates already turned off ) and it can only be set in every ..... minutes or hours not in days or weeks. It is good for my PC's security, but I think I don't need to do it every day, is it right? I have a little problem with the software, the firewall is too sensitive. I can't connect my PC to the internet when the firewall is active because it blocks the access, so I have to turn it off and only activate my PC's OS firewall.
AVG IS8 can handle the virus and able to perform healing and remove the virus or trojan automatically. AVG IS8 can automatically perform daily scanning, but I can also re-scheduling it. when I perform scanning all-Drive on a PC / laptop then I run task manager, I can see my CPU Usage to 25 - 40%. so I have to close all applications to optimize the drive scanning. With the ability AVG IS8, I can get perfect protection for my Computer than before.
