Ignoring the radio, which will not be obsoleted, the card can be connected to a Freeview box with or, you can connect a game console to record the game, (pretty useless), or you can connect a VCR to enable you to copy your old video collection and record them as MPeg, ready to copy them to DVD !
Advantages: Watch TV and radio, use your games consoles on your PC! Disadvantages: Pricey, but definitely worth it

This TV card plugs into the back of your PC and essentially allows your PC to function just like a free view TV, so you can watch TV and listen to radio. Also you can plug in any games consoles and use them on your monitor, which is pretty ... ...in another room. With my AVerMedia AVerTV Studio 303 card, I now have a high-quality TFT TV, with SkyPlus-like features for a fraction of the cost. Definitely, definitely worth it!
One last word of advice, don't let what I said about my setup problems put you off - the product is very easy to setup, comes with a good manual and there's even free customer support. ...
