I was searching the web for insurance for my wife's latest car, but they were all coming up expensive. The prices were ranging from around £176 to around £220. This was for fully comprehensive with no claims or convictions, and the car parked on the driveway of our house at night, with my wife as the only driver. My wife's latest car is a nissan micra profile 1.0, and is "w" registration. after around 10 insurance companies / brokers, I tried AXA Direct, and got a price of £180 approx. Then I had a brainwave. Advantages: Extremely professional Disadvantages: Expensive for learner drivers
We insured our car with AXA last year and protected the no-claims bonus for the first time. We chose AXA because they offered the best deal at the lowest price, but when my husband had an accident we were very glad that we had chosen them. Luckily nobody was hurt and our car was only very slightly damaged, however, extensive damage was caused to another vehicle, and as my husband was in the wrong we claimed on our insurance. AXA took care of everything ... ...I didn't reinsure with AXA this year, but that was because the price shot up when we decided to include a learner driver on the policy. I would not hesitate to recommend AXA to anybody, I've never dealt with an insurance company so professional before. I will certainly be contacting them for a quote again next year. ...

...12 companies that i tried, axa was the cheapest by about £50 (from hill house hammond). I drive a Polo P97, 1.4 and live in an ok part of Leeds
Big stinkers were the AA (yeah, like they try really hard to find the best quote, they quoted me £1200.)
Axa quoted 615 with a 150 excess. (i have only 1 year no claims)
Whilst all insurance companies are different and quote for different statistics, this site is worth a try because you can tailor your ...

Advantages: none that come to mind Disadvantages: quotes can be a bit high
my experience as a policyholder was shortlived but only because their quote was not competetive. The problem with insurance companies is that, if you do not meet their current criteria, they do not really want your business and scare you away with high permiums. It matters not whether you are a good risk or not.
My other experience was at the other end.(one of their cutomers shunted me) I claimed from them directly which is something insurance companies ... ...benefits. To be fair they acted honourably and dealt with me promptly (or as soon as their client admitted fault). However, you will find that they try to push their approved repairers on you (you are encouraged because it is quicker to get your repair approved this way). I succumbed and regretted it. Be patient. You are entitled to have who you want to repair your car. ...

Advantages: Excellent services Disadvantages: none which I have experienced
When I crashed my car in April last year, I feared the worst in making my first claim after 10 years of insurance. However, it took only three phone calls and 10 days to sort out the claim, have my written off car assessed, collected and the cheque to arrive. The service I received from the company was excellent throughout, and, having worked in a call centre for a major bank, I rated it higher than perhaps any other company I have dealt with on ...

...received my renewal notice from AXA to see that it had gone up quite a bit on lasts year. So I began the usual ringing around trying to get a better deal. After ringing a few places I did manage to bring my premium down by about £30 which wasn’t to bad then I got to thinking have I ever really heard of some of these company’s? What will happen if half way through the year the company goes bust? At least I can’t imagine that happening with them. So ... ...see if they can do anything and to my surprise they could, of course my car isn’t worth the same as it was last year and it there is no point over valuing your car because they are never going to pay you any extra if you ever should need to make a claim. So after a few adjustments they managed to bring my quote down to within a few pounds of the cheapest quote I had received and it’s definitely worth paying that little bit extra for peace of mind. ...

Just like most people when it comes to buying something I shop around. Well we as a family have been going abroad for just over 2 years and to date we have been abroad 6 times. We have had our travel insurance through many insurers including Insure&Go, Direct line, Post office, Kwik fit and a few more. Out of all of them we have to say that AXAdirect is the best company we have used not just for there product but for there customer care standards.
You can contact AXA either on the telephone (0800 368 3911) Call centre opening times are 8am to 9pm Mon-Frid, 9am to 6pm Sat and 10am to 2pm on Sun.

Advantages: A quick initial response.... Disadvantages: A slow reaction when things go wrong...
We are presently insured through AxA insurance/ AXADirect.
In May this year we had a flood in the bathroom, leading to the need to have our entire ceiling inoour lounge diner replaced.
The system which AXA uses, meant that this process is still going on in October..
The difficulty we have found, is that while the insurance company themselves are very approachable and deal with the initial paperwork and drudgery of the claim in its early stages, the details are then passed to a surveyors team, who then pass it to a building team, who then pass it to a contractor. This system works well when things go right and straightforwardly, but in our case, the first contractors to begin work left the room in a worse condition than when they began and we were asked not to use it due to the fact that it was deemed as unsafe. We have spent ...

Advantages: sponsers the F.A. Cup Disadvantages: expensive
AXADirect can be more expensive than AXA indirect. When seeking a motor insurance quote from AXADirect I found it to be as much as £50 more expensive than by using a company that actualy quoted an AXA motor policy identical to the AXADirect policy no difference except for the £50.
It does pay to shop around, what could be a good quote today, may not be so good in five days time, this applies to all insurance not just motor policies, the quotes vary very much indeed from each insurer all of them keen for our business, but not too keen if we ever need to make a claim.
It does pay to shop around well before a policy is due for renewal. ...
