Advantages: Great storyline, great pictures, keeps you interested. Disadvantages: Written a long time ago.
...Ursula Moray Williams (born in 1911) started writing stories when she was 9 years old, and is probably more known for her stories about Gobbolino the cat. However another story of hers is the Adventures of the Little Wooden Horse, which has been a personal favourite of mine for many years! I'd say that this book is suitable for children aged between 5 and 10, although I enjoyed it just as much when I re-read it a few weeks ago (and I'm 17!). I'm sure parents would also enjoy reading this to their children, and it even specifies on the cover that it's a ‘read aloud’ book – meaning it is particularly suitable for reading aloud to young children. There aren't many pictures throughout the book and they aren't in colour but they are, in my opinion, very well drawn and the book wouldn't be the same without them. They are actually drawn...

Advantages: A really good book which educates the reader as well as telling the life of an amazing man Disadvantages: None
...horse will understand. Monty was still very young when he discovered this and no one had any faith in his new found methods. So he worked in secret building up the relationships with his horses.
The book goes on to tell how Monty managed to spread the word about this new way of training horses. Many people did not believe him and thought it would be too dangerous to train horses in this way. He finally got his break in England when the Queen saw a demonstration of his methods. Since this time, Monty has trained thousands of horses in this way. He has helped people overcome their problems with horses and changed their views and attitudes towards them.
This book has had some bad reviews and people have claimed that the information included in it about his father is not true. People are still not sure about his methods and still call him...

Advantages: A great addition to the Chronicles of Narnia! Disadvantages: Less of the story is spent actually IN Narnia but the story is very griping!
...in the same world of Narnia that i grew up loving!
So, what are my impressions of "The Horse & His Boy"? Well, a little mixed but on the whole, i loved it! The story is about a young boy called Shasta who escapes from his land in the south to the northern land of Narnia with the help of a talking horse. The horse, Bree, has told Shasta all about Narnia as this is where they were both taken from in their childhood and they soon find themselves in a race against an army who are planning to attack Narnia.
I found the story to have great pace and suspense which gave it an element of excitement and adventure; just what any Narnia story needs! There are various elements that i enjoyed and these are some things that i think are of note:
Characters - The main characters, Shasta, Aravis, Bree and Hwin (the later two being horses) all share the same...
