So I started ringing round all the usual suspects for quotes-only ... ...until it was registered in the UK. Hours of giving the same details over and over again only to be told at the last knockings they couldn't insure my car. Hang on-can't register it without insurance-can't insure it until it's registered ??? Aaarrrgghh!! I found my way to the British Insurance Brokers Association, who recommended me to a broker called A J Insurance Service 0870 444 3511. Straight away they understood what I needed and set me up a policy with a covernote showing the chassis number-this was all the DVLA needed. I have to say the price I paid was a bit more than the first quotes I'd had, but when it came down to it no other insurance company could cover the car. Service from AJ and turnaround of paperwork has been excellent.
