...We were looking for a small quality diesel and had narrowed our choice to either a VW Polo TDI or Renault Clio dTi / dCi. After many miles and weeks we had been consistently dissapointed at all the Polos we had seen; all needed valeting, were generally odourous and had small problems that hinted at cars that the owner / seller wasn't proud of - not what you'd expect of a VW or its owner. One Polo we looked at was potentially the deal of the century but initial inspection revealed serious problems with the engine mountings which the seller offered to investigate whilst holding the car. The following morning he'd sold the car to someone else. Enter George Gibson Car Sales! Here is a man who does things the old fashioned way - the honourable way! At last! Shop address: 42 Doncaster Road Barnsley S70 1TL Tel: 01226 203982 I have been buying and selling bikes for a number of years now but Ihave to say that the latest purchase that was made from George Ward & Co has been by far the most satisfactory one to date. From the moment I entered the shop I felt welcome but not under any pressure and there was also the refreshing change of not being spoken to as if I was an idoit due to the fact that 'Women don't really ride big bikes love' -which is the usual attitude you get, whilst being gently steered into the scooter section. There is none of the hard sell you usually encounter, the staff are all bikers themselves and really care about their customer, not just paying lip service as is the norm... Read review

...Would you buy a used car from this man? I already have, and I thought that he gave me a fair deal, with exceptionally good customer service. Mr. Gibson told me that he runs a small family business which has been established for about 30 years. He appears to specialize in good quality used cars which he gets from large dealers who have received them as trade-ins. George Gibson Car Sales is a good place to go if you want a car which is just a little older than those which the large dealers like to sell, but still in good condition. I have not visited his premises, which are in deepest Lanarkshire. Easy enough to get to from Glasgow if you already have a car, but mine was off the road.
