'A' Level Information Technology - very respectable

Advantages: Nice layout
Disadvantages: Sometimes waffles on a bit

Being a student I probably use this book more frequently than teachers do and so I believe I am more able to write a 'real' review. This 370-page book aims to cover all aspects of the A-level IT course. The book is presented well with short paragraphs and bullet point used to outline key points. The book consists of five sections, in total 71 chapters. The aim of using so many chapters is to allow each chapter to be covered in one or two lessons, but unfortunately the book comes across as being 'bitty'. Also some major topics have been split over two or three chapters where it might have been better to keep them as one larger chapter. The book has a large number of case studies that are very useful to learn for exams. These case studies also contain many facts that are useful to remember. At the end of each chapter there are ...

Review of A Level Textbooks: A Level Computing - P.M. Heathcote

Does it compute

Advantages: Gets you through the course
Disadvantages: A lot of information you dont need.

I am currently studying A level computing and using this book to study from. It is a well structured book with all the different topics in well ordered chapters and sections. It comprises the whole AQA course from AS to A-level. The language used is very easy to understand for anybody who will be doing A-levels and so its a useful addition to the course. There are helpful diagrams and graphics in this book which help you visualise the concepts. However there is a lot of useless information in this book. There are topics that aren't covered by the AQA course and also some random paragraphs that don't mean a thing. This book has helped me through this course but it has also given me a few headaches. A good text book but not a good read. ...

Review of A Level Textbooks: A Level Computing - P.M. Heathcote

THE TRAGIC LIFE OF SYLVIA PLATH.

Advantages: Beautifully shot.
Disadvantages: Slow, sometimes a little dreary, didn't cover her poetry enough.

SYLVIA Released in 2003 under the genre Biography/Drama,'Sylvia' chronicles the turbulent life of Poet Sylvia Plath, and her seven year marriage to her husband Ted Hughes Starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Daniel Craig. The year is 1956 and the film opens with Sylvia talking about a dream she had. In the dream she had likened herself to a tree with branches outstretched. Each branch representing something about herself. One branch was her life, one branch, her husband, her children, and one branch, her glittering academic career. The leaves were her poems. As the dream closed the leaves had turned to brown and fluttered to the ground, and drifted away. This visceral dream seems to encapsulate Sylvia's state of mind in all it's complexities. - Such was Sylvia's ( Gwyneth Paltrow) melancholic ...
