'A' Level Information Technology - very respectable

Advantages: Nice layout
Disadvantages: Sometimes waffles on a bit

Being a student I probably use this book more frequently than teachers do and so I believe I am more able to write a 'real' review. This 370-page book aims to cover all aspects of the A-level IT course. The book is presented well with short paragraphs and bullet point used to outline key points. The book consists of five sections, in total 71 chapters. The aim of using so many chapters is to allow each chapter to be covered in one or two lessons, but unfortunately the book comes across as being 'bitty'. Also some major topics have been split over two or three chapters where it might have been better to keep them as one larger chapter. The book has a large number of case studies that are very useful to learn for exams. These case studies also contain many facts that are useful to remember. At the end of each chapter there are ...

The Perfect A-Level Calculator

Advantages: Text book option equates to easy calculations; Great for A-Level Mathematics and Physics
Disadvantages: Compared to more expensive calculators it has less features... understandably..

As a mathematics and physics A-Level student, my calculator is a very important day to day tool. The Fx-85ES is everything you'd need at this level, plus much more! One particularly excellent feature is textbook mode, which allows you to put equations in exactly how you'd see them in your text book and inputting is so exceptionally easy that i've found that any other calculator does not feel as solid. The exponential button uses x10 rather than E, and it uses trigonometric ratio's instead of a ridiculous number which can confuse you rather easily. I'm sure there are many other useful features for the more hardcore mathematician, but I have and will continue to recommend this to my friends and students alike; If you want an effective, clear and useful calculator which do surds, trig ratios and logs for you, pick this calculator ...

Choosing A-Levels

Advantages: Necessary to make correct choices and should achieve the best results
Disadvantages: Incorrect choices could be disastrous

~Introduction~ I am now in the second year (Year 13) of studying my A-levels and only have a few months study remaining. The four subjects that I chose to study were: Business Studies, Physical Education, Geography and General Studies. They have so far proved to be pretty justified choices, but making those initial decisions takes careful thought and a lot of consideration. ~Making the Choice~ There are a number of things that you should take into account when you are picking which A-level courses to take on. The order of importance of some of the points I am going to raise may differ from person to person, but they are all vital factors that you must consider. ~Enjoyment~ The most important thing, in my opinion, is that the majority of subjects that you choose are those that you enjoy and are good at. There is no ...
