Advantages: very thorough Disadvantages: you may need a separate house to keep it in!
Im just about to take my Physics A2 level exam in a couple of weeks and this book is a god send. It is enormously thick but then it does include pretty much everything you would ever need to know for any A level physics sylabus. Im doin the Edexcell sylabus and it covers pretty much every topic including, magnetic fields, gravitational fields, electric fields, circular motion, capacitors, simple harmonic motion, rectilinear motion, waves, the universe, ... ...Paricle accelerator or detectors which i find quite suprising, because i would have thought that this is a very important part of Physics. However i have looked around in other text books and this book isnt alone in its leaving out of this topic, i dont understand why though!?
If you are doing A or AS Physics, this book is a must have, its clear diagrams and in depth wording of all the key concepts of the Physics sylabus make it a fantastic reference ...

This extensively revised 4th edition of an established physics text offers coverage of the recent developments at A/AS-Level, with each topic explained in straightforward terms, starting at an appropriate Level (7/8) of the National Curriculum. The format has been updated, with new "consolidation" sections and questions in the text designed to provide a link between GCSE and A-Level. At the end of each section are questions, mainly from past A-Level examination papers, intended for consolidation and revision. Answers are included.
