For me this book is One that embodies everything I hope that I try to be, caring towards others no matter what life throws at me.
No matter what situation she finds herself in, Sarah, the books main character seems to be able to reach out to others & care despite how she feels deep inside.
In the beginning she tries to show her Father how brave she can be despite the heart renching feelings as they part.
Later she helps to cheer her friends up with stories & cheers up a fellow pupil who is missing their parent, despite her own feelings.
Even on her own birthday she appears to not be missing her Father, at least not that you can tell.
Despite the sad news later that she appears parentless & poor it does not seem to phase her, she gets cold, hungry & I suspect very lonely at times but you would not think so from the way the book is written, that this unduly worries her.
I find myself often empathising with her acceptance of what life suddenly throws at her & her ability to some how go on caring despite the humble poverty she encounters.
Throughout her poor time she continues to be a friend not only to Becky but the others whom she still sees as just friendly girls with no thought of her so called lower status.
Even at the end when the wealthy Sarah is restored back with everything she can want, she chooses to share it with Becky.
The words I chose for this review title are similar to how a close friend treats me.
Despite now being confinded in a wheelchair he still see's me as the same caring young lady he knew before she got ill & encourages me to still be the princess who cares despite the pain I am in & to go on reaching out to others.
