Advantages: well written, funny, compelling read Disadvantages: not a single truly likeable character; no lasting impact
This is the first book by A.M. Homes that I have read and thus I had no preconceptions of my own approaching it. The professionals' reviews uttered things like 'glass-sharp' and 'acid-etched' while the readers' ones were more along the lines of 'nice' and 'uplifting'. And Stephen King said that it might even save somebody's life.
There is little doubt that "This Book Will Save Your Life" won't do any such thing, in fact it's one of those books that one enjoys a lot while reading, but which leaves no lasting impact. On the surface, it's an enjoyable story of emotional redemption, of a man re-establishing his connections with human world and his own emotions and history and thus coming back to what's defined as 'life'.

Advantages: Homely and comfortable Disadvantages: In need of a refurbishment
For my mum's 60th birthday, my sister and I wanted to do something special for her (particularly because it's a miracle she's got this far having brought us two up). My sister, who recently visited Walton Hall Hotel and Spa for a friend's hen night, suggested we take her for a day of pampering, followed by a night in a hotel. When coming from the north, junction 15 is the most straightforward exit, followed by a short drive through Wellesbourne, after which the hotel is clearly signposted. From the south, junction 13 is the exit to take, again followed by a trip through ...
Advantages: Great stories, good engines, educational experience Disadvantages: The new stories aren't as good
I am now 17 years old, but I do still love watching the odd Thomas The Tank Engine story very ocassionly. I grew up watching it and I had, and still do have, most of the videos and story books. I was pleased to discover that the programmes and concept is still going strong. They are continuing to make new stories and introduce more characters, both of which have some positive and negative costs. I will write everything that I know about Thomas The Tank Engine and try and gives those of you who haven't seen it before, a good idea of what it all involves.
Thomas The Tank Engine (and Friends), is a childrens programme about the trains that operate on the island of Sodor. It follows them through their ups and downs and also their funny moods and strops that they get into. Each story tends to have a message at the end of it and it ...
