A Man's Guide To Pregnancy is a fun look at pregnancy from the man's point of view. It makes an especially good gift book for the expecting father as it is full of humorous helpful hints" to guide a man through this sometimes confusing always hectic time. No expecting father who has a shred of a sense of humor should be without this book."
Advantages: Chatty, friendly style. Informative Disadvantages: Not a technical 'manual'

I picked Kaz Cooke's book up on Amazon for about £8 (RRP £9.99). The book is just over 400 pages long and is largely written in a first person style, following the author's own pregnancy on a week by week basis. It also adds factual information each week, from advice on potential illnesses to combatting tiredness, morning sickness and (good from my point of view...) the little worries that are bound to crop up in the man's head from time to time such as what partners can do to help.

...The Best Friends Guide to Pregnancy by Vikki Iovine
Being at the final stages of pregnancy now (oh my god cant believe I am going to have a baby in less than six weeks!) I finally managed to get through to the end of this totally brilliant and amusing book.
At the first stage of pregnancy I was trying to read every bit of literature I could get my hands on and finding out I was pregnant a lot of my Christmas presents ended up being pregnancy and child related, thanks friends and family just what I need! But one of my best friends bought me this particular book, which I am totally appreciative of as I found it laugh out loud funny and full of totally useful information for throughout my pregnancy and beyond.
This book is not that large and coming in at nearly 300 pages I found it easy and enjoyable to read through...

...The Complete Guide to Pregnancy and Birth by Dr Miriam Stoppard, has become my "bible" for both of my pregnancies!
It is like having your own midwife on your bedside table!
The book has excellent coverage of all aspects of pregnancy and birth including planning for a succesful and healthy pregnancy.
I personally like to week by week guide to the 40 weeks and gives measurements of the fetus/baby and explains in detail what you can expect to be experiencing and feeling at each stage!
Many a time i have referred to this book and have found the exact answer i have been looking for e.g why was i getting headaches, when should my morning sickness subside and why do my feet and hands swell occasional and so on............
All in all an excellent all round guide and throughly recommended to all mums to be!...
